'The Legend of Tarzan' Sequel in Works

It looks like we might see Tarzan and Jane again if the filmmakers of The Legend of Tarzan have their way. At a screening of 20 minutes of footage, both director David Yates and producer David Barron confirmed an outline for a second film has been done, depending on how it does. And if the reaction from Hey U Guys is any indication we might have a hit on our hands as they describe the footage as being "epic" and that if "you’re a fan of the Tarzan story, we really think this will be one you’ll be excited to see and is a different take on the Edgar Rice Burroughs tale that we all know and love." I think I saw some mention somewhere that they have been planning a trilogy from the start, whether it will happen depends on how well the first film does.

If it happens I really hope one of those two yet unmade films has the Opar story in it. That done in something resembling the Indiana Jones movies - search for treasure and lost civilization, except finding the ancient ruined city is still occupied - could make for a really fun story.
