John Carter Trailer and Comic-Con News

Well this morning we have some possible good news, some bad news and some questionable news. In this case from ERBzine http://www.erbzine.com/news/ who has some information from James Sullios, president of ERB, Inc, concerning the upcoming John Carter film. The info as follows:

-the first trailer for the film will be attached to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 coming out July 15.
-That Disney has decided NOT to promote the film at all at the San Diego Comic-Con.
-The film is currently undergoing reshoots of the "live scenes of the film."

OK the news about the trailer is welcome but why is Disney skipping Comic-Con, the biggest fanboy/geek convention of the year? Do they think the film has no appeal to that audience or is there something else? It doesn't help their cause that's for sure. Also the news of reshoots can be seen as either helping the film or because of problems that have popped up. We'll have to wait and see what Disney's official spin on this will be.

I cant understand why they are not promoting this more? It kills be when they do that to films like Soloman Kane and others then wonder why there is no interest in the movie. How are people suppose to know something is coming out if you dont advertise it?

It seems insane to skip ComicCon, especially if they have a trailer ready to go six days earlier.
